Andrea is a community builder with a wealth of experience in non-profit housing. Having previously worked as a university educator and in mediation, Andrea founder her start in the housing sector managing off-campus housing for a university of 20,000+ students. Employing creative solutions to deliver housing options to student during years of critical shortages, Andrea was able to establish a number of temporary and long-term housing solutions that exist to this day in the Nanaimo area.
Beyond her passion for community building, Andrea’s ability to build strong stakeholder partnerships and commitment to developing high quality properties has been invaluable in her 3 years on the BCNPHA Board. It is her goal to continue to work with and support the many other non-profit housing societies on the Island and throughout BC, in both growing their organizations and working through the challenges and rewards, that being a housing provider is in our current, evolving housing climate.
