A model shaped by the sector itself

Community Housing Coverage was created to support non-profit housing providers in managing insurance more effectively. We exist to make insurance work better for the sector—not the other way around.

We bring housing providers together

We take a collective approach to managing risk, and help members better understand insurance so they can make more informed decisions about coverage, risk, and cost. We

  • Act as a bridge between non-profit housing providers and the insurance world
  • Advocate for the sector
  • Help navigate complex insurance systems

CHC is not an insurance company

We are mission driven. And we’re not salespeople.

We work alongside brokers and insurers—but with a different purpose:

Aligned with your mission

We understand that non-profit housing providers are focused on delivering homes—not navigating complex insurance systems. CHC is designed to support that work with a model that reflects your priorities.

Value stays in the sector

Unlike traditional models, CHC is designed so that more non-profit dollars stay within the sector. More of your premium goes toward protection—and much less of it goes to commissions.

Why CHC exists

The non-profit housing sector manages significant assets, and takes good care of them—but hasn’t always benefited from that collective strength.

CHC was created to change that.

We exist to make that value more visible and accessible to providers, while helping stabilize premiums over time and returning that value back to the sector.
